This Steel Building was installed over an existing outdoor ring to protect the ring from weather elements. 5' high sloped kickboards were installed on inside of the columns. Steel columns are spaced approximately 26' o.c. and are placed on top of concrete pillar foundation. Gutters & downspouts are installed and connected to underground piping to take water away from the building.
When building outdoor rings like the one shown here, it's very important to provide large enough and deep enough concrete pillars. In fact, what we did and what we recommend is to pour "mashroom-shaped" inverted pillars which provide bigger footing area on the bottom and act like anchors for better uplift wind protection.
